Higher education institutions are not equipped to tailor career services to the unique needs of international students, despite international students making up 30% of the Canadian higher education tuition fees. Our work starts in Canada but our goal is to put Canada on the map and expand to help international students globally.

How you can help:

We are looking for a dynamic Full-Stack Developer who will act as a Tech Lead for our company. The ideal candidate is passionate in building a career in a fast-growing startup and loves solving problems for international students & newcomers. The candidate will be wearing multiple hats including working closely with the CEO and the rest of the leadership team, acting as a technical product manager, delivery manager, full-stack developer, and leading a technology team both internal and external. A successful candidate will be an integral part to the company with a path to senior executive position with equity compensation.

As a Full-Stack Developer/Tech Lead, you will plan, manage, and oversee day-to-day operating activities of the development including scaling our technology platform to streamline candidate and job matching, automate resources & mentor connections as well as integrating into higher education institutions nationwide & globally.

This is not a typical development role but rather a technology leadership role. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to invest long-term with the mission to help international students globally.

Leadership Responsibilities:

• Lead the development team, manage product & technology roadmap and resources
• Work with the leadership team, employees, and contractors to discuss issues and coordinate internal activities
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
• Oversee research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation

Technical Responsibilities:

• Act as full-stack developer, develop front-end and back-end architecture and interfaces of the application
• Ensure that technology & security standards and best practices are maintained across the company and technical problems are prioritized and resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Manage workload using Agile methodology, Kanban board -Conduct Q&A the prototype-to-production
• Continue to iterate the platform, leveraging a/b testing when applicable
• Document best practices, how-tos, and many more

You Have:

• Work & Education -Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years professional system engineering experience -Previous development / testing experience
• Previous experience in a leadership within your team is preferred Technical Expertise
• Knowledge in frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js)
• Knowledge in backend development and API integration (PHP, Laravel)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
